So nice to meet you! First off, what’s your name? Tell our readers a bit about yourself—where you’re from originally and where you live now.
My name is Vera Cap, and I’m the co-founder of Neo Aesthetics and Medical International Academy in Hallandale Beach, Florida, which I built together with my sister, Anastasiya. We originally come from Siberia, Russia, where we grew up in a very different climate and culture. Today, we’re proud to run a leading beauty and medical aesthetics education academy dedicated to providing high-quality, hands-on training that prepares students for successful careers in the beauty, skincare, massage, laser, and medical fields. Our journey has been about turning our passion for aesthetics and education into a school that helps people build confidence, skills, and new opportunities.
Tell us one thing you love about where you live now.
Coming from freezing Siberia, I think I’ll always be a little obsessed with the Florida sunshine! I love waking up to warm weather, being close to the ocean, and feeling like life can be enjoyed outdoors all year long. After growing up somewhere so cold, living in South Florida feels like a gift. It’s a reminder of how much your surroundings can change the way you feel about life.
Tell us a little more about what your company does and how it started. How does it help your customers?
Neo Aesthetics and Medical International Academy was founded in 2020 by my sister, Anastasiya, and me. Before opening our school, we shared a passion for skincare, beauty, and helping people feel confident. We saw a growing demand for professional education in medical aesthetics and beauty, so we decided to create an academy that combines high-quality education with practical, hands-on training.
Today, Neo Aesthetics and Medical International Academy is a beauty and medical aesthetics school in Hallandale Beach, Florida, offering career-focused programs in esthetics, laser and electrolysis, medical assisting, massage therapy, nail technology, and advanced aesthetic treatments. Our goal is to prepare students with the knowledge, practical skills, and confidence they need to pursue rewarding careers in the beauty, skincare, and wellness industries.
What makes our academy special is our personal approach. As a family-owned school, we understand that every student has a different story and different goals. We offer small classes, hands-on experience, and guidance from experienced professionals who are passionate about sharing their knowledge.
For us, education goes far beyond earning a diploma. We want our graduates to become confident practitioners, successful entrepreneurs, and respected professionals in the growing medical aesthetics industry. Seeing our students launch careers, open their own businesses, and transform their lives is the most rewarding part of what we do. We aren't just teaching beauty techniques; we're helping people build a future they can be proud of.
If someone wants to start a business, what advice would you give them?
My biggest advice is to start before you feel completely ready, but do your homework first. When my sister Anastasiya and I started Neo Aesthetics and Medical International Academy, we had a vision, a lot of passion, and plenty of challenges to overcome. We learned that building a successful business takes patience, consistency, and a willingness to keep learning.
I would also tell aspiring entrepreneurs to focus on solving a real problem for their customers, understand their industry, and never compromise on quality. In the beauty and medical aesthetics industry, for example, building trust through excellent service, proper education, and professional standards is essential.
Most importantly, don't be afraid to start small. You don't need to have everything figured out on day one. Stay adaptable, manage your finances carefully, surround yourself with good people, and remember why you started. Success rarely happens overnight, but small, consistent steps can build something meaningful over time.
What is one piece of feedback from a happy customer or client that you won't forget?
One piece of feedback I’ll never forget came from one of our students, Ruth. She told us that when she first met us, she thought our smiles, positive energy, and warm personalities were just a way to get her through the door. But after joining our program at Neo Aesthetics and Medical International Academy, she realized that our kindness was genuine. She truly felt how much we cared about our students and how invested our entire team was in their success.
That meant so much to me because my sister Anastasiya and I built this academy with the intention of creating more than just a beauty school. We wanted to create a community where students feel supported, valued, and encouraged to grow. In the beauty and medical aesthetics education industry, technical skills are essential, but I believe genuine care and personal attention make an equally important difference. Ruth’s words reminded me that our students can feel the heart behind what we do, and that is something I never want us to lose as we grow.
Where do you see your company in the future?
I see Neo Aesthetics and Medical International Academy growing into a larger educational institution, eventually expanding into a medical college and opening additional locations. My sister Anastasiya and I started with a vision to provide high-quality beauty and medical aesthetics education, and we want to take that mission even further by creating more opportunities for students to enter the healthcare, aesthetics, and wellness industries.
Our goal is to make professional education accessible, practical, and career-focused while maintaining the personal attention and genuine care that make our school special. As we expand, I want us to reach more communities, introduce new programs, and help even more students turn their passion into a successful career or business. Growth is exciting, but for me, success will always mean staying true to our values and making a meaningful difference in people's lives.
What is the biggest misconception about your industry?
I think one of the biggest misconceptions about the beauty and medical aesthetics industry is that it’s all about appearance and luxury. In reality, skincare and aesthetics are about so much more than that. They involve science, anatomy, technology, safety, and ongoing professional education. Proper skincare should be viewed as part of overall wellness, not just an occasional luxury.
Another misconception is that you can succeed in this industry with a short course and a few techniques. Building a successful career requires proper education, hands-on practice, understanding skin health, and knowing your professional scope of practice. At Neo Aesthetics and Medical International Academy, we emphasize quality education, safety, and practical skills because our goal is to prepare students for real careers, not simply teach them how to perform a treatment.
I also believe the industry has the power to change lives. We see students come to us looking for a fresh start, greater financial independence, or the confidence to open their own businesses. That's what makes this field so rewarding to me: it's about helping people feel better about themselves while creating meaningful career opportunities for others.
What has been one of your biggest struggles building your business, and how did you deal with it?
One of our biggest challenges was building trust and establishing our reputation in a competitive beauty and medical aesthetics education industry. When my sister Anastasiya and I founded Neo Aesthetics and Medical International Academy, we knew we wanted to offer something different, but we also had to prove ourselves and show people that our intentions were genuine.
We overcame this by focusing on the quality of our education, investing in hands-on training, hiring knowledgeable instructors, and treating every student as an individual rather than just another enrollment. We listened to feedback, learned from our mistakes, and constantly looked for ways to improve.
As a family-owned business, we also learned how important it is to stay resilient and support each other, especially during difficult moments. Today, seeing our graduates build careers, open businesses, and recommend our academy to others reminds us why we started. Our biggest lesson has been that you can't build a lasting business on marketing alone. You build it through trust, consistency, and genuinely caring about the people you serve.
